The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced that Slovak international referee Vladimir Hrinak will officiate the Cairo derby between Ahli and Zamalek in the local league on December 30th, 2006. Hrinak, 42, will be assisted by compatriots Radomir Sluk and Tomas Somolani while Egyptian referee Nasser Abbass will take on the role of the fourth official, EFA spokesman Medhat Shalabi told reporters on Monday. The Slovak Football Association (SFA) had nominated 2005 Confederations Cup final referee Lubos Michel to officiate Saturday's game. However, Michel apologized for personal reasons. “The SFA sent us a fax on Monday morning notifying us of the change,” said Shalabi. “They said that Michel was unavailable because he will be spending the holiday season with his family.” The Slovak officials are scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Friday.
