Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson said after his side's victory over Liverpool that they became ready to win the title this year after two seasons of Chelsea's dominance. Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand scored at Old Trafford on Sunday to give United a classy 2-0 over the Reds and stay on top of the table, leading the title holders on goal difference. "There's a growing belief. I'm looking to step forward and make sure we have a real go this year," the veteran manager was quoted by the club's website. "We started the season with the hope, desire and intention to do well and so far the players have not let anyone down." United won seven times, tied only once and were handed one defeat against arch-rivals Arsenal in this season's campaign. They are also doing well in Europe, collecting nine points from three games in the Champions League and moving to the brink of qualification.
