The Egyptian FA postponed Ahli's league game against Suez Cement to give the Egyptian champions enough time to prepare for their African Champions League final against Sfaxien. The Egyptian League tie was due to be played on the 23rd of October, six days before Ahli's African final first-leg clash against Tunisia's Sfaxien at the Cairo International Stadium. "The decision came to support the Egyptian representative in the African Champions League," EFA president Samir Zaher told FilGoal.com on Saturday. The EFA did not set a date for the match to be played in. Ahli coach Manuel Jose demanded the match to be postponed in order for his players to have some rest as well as giving the injured ones time to recover. Zaher revealed that he told Ahli president Hassan Hamdi either to delay the Suez Cement game or to re-schedule the ENPPI match, which will be played on the sixth of November before the second-leg of the Champions League final takes place. Hamdi opted to postpone the Suez Cement match, stating that the first-leg of the Champions League final is more important because the title holders will be looking for a comfortable lead at home.
