Tens of thousands of Egyptians packed the Military Academy Stadium on Wednesday to bid farewell to Ahli's late star Mohamed Abdul-Wahab whose testimonial game turned into a goal-festival. Supporters for different Egyptian clubs attended the testimonial, carrying giant photos for Abdul-Wahab and chanting his name. A selection of Ahli-Ismaili players beat an ENPPI-Zamalek team 5-2 in the main part of the testimony. All the participating players wore the number 3 jersey of Abdul-Wahab and limited goals' celebrations to just simple gestures. Flavio Amado, Shadi Mohamed, Mohamed Abou-Treika, Hassan Mostafa and Emad Meteb scored for the winners while Reda Metwalli and Hossam Mabrouk notched goals for the other side. Pop band WAMA played a religious track in the half-time and Pop singer Ehab Tawfiq sang a specially-dedicated song to the former international defender. Abdul-Wahab, 23, collapsed in Ahli's training earlier in September and was declared dead when he arrived at hospital due to a heart failure. The revenues of the testimony are set to be donated to his family, who will also receive a fee of a three-year contract that was due to be signed between Ahli and the player.
