Zambrotta puts Milan first
Published in FilGoal on 18 - 07 - 2006

Gianluca Zambrotta will consider a move to Premiership champions Chelsea only if AC Milan fails to make a deal with Juventus, the player's agent revealed on Tuesday.
The Italian international is set to join the exodus of players leaving Juventus after the club was demoted to Serie B and slammed with a 30-point deduction for match-fixing.
"Zambrotta's wish is to stay in Italy, but not at Juventus and the only club that can afford the transfer and that have shown a keen interest is Milan," Giuseppe Bonetto was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia magazine.
Although English media have claimed interest from Chelsea on the versatile full-back, the Italian won't consider a move abroad unless Rossoneri fails to make an acceptable bid.
"Should Juve fail to reach an agreement with Milan then Zambrotta will consider the other alternatives," Bonetto said.

The 29-year-old prefers Italian football
"An agent representing Chelsea will meet Juventus in the next few days," he confirmed.
The 29-year-old player's suitors are plenty as his agent also confirmed interest from the Spanish Primera Liga.
"Chelsea are not the only ones interested in Zambrotta as Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keen to sign the player."
Nevertheless, Bonetto insisted Juventus will have the final say on the destination of the talented left-back who played a pivotal role in Italy's 2006 World Cup winning campaign earlier this month.
"It will be down to Juventus to make the decisions and let us know what the options are once there is something concrete.”
