Pedro Pauleta scored an early goal as Portugal labored to a 1-0 win over Angola in their World Cup match on Sunday. The PSG striker poked home from inside the area in the fourth minute after receiving a low cross from captain Luis Figo. Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo almost doubled the lead before the interval when he steered a powerful header but saw his effort hitting the woodwork. The African debutants looked confused in the first minutes but restored their shape and came close from the equalizer more than once. Portugal are now in second spot of Group D with three points, behind Mexico who lead on goal difference.
