Portuguese coach Eduardo Vingada is expected to arrive in Cairo during the next 10 days to reopen talks with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) regarding the Olympic team coaching job. “EFA president Samir Zaher received a phone call from Vingada telling him that he wanted to reopen the talks about coaching the Olympic team,” EFA Public Relations head Medhat Shalabi told FilGoal.com exclusively on Sunday. This news will postpone EFA's earlier decision to appoint an Egyptian coaching staff to lead the Olympic team into the Beijing Olympics that will kick-off in September. Zaher had opened talks with Vingada last week in Portugal but reached a stumbling block when the latter demanded that the assistant coach would be also Portuguese and that he would start his new job in July. The Egyptian FA will look into signing Vingada officially during their meeting that that is scheduled to take place on May 10th. Nevertheless, Zaher insisted that the assistant coach would be Egyptian to act as the link between the Portuguese coach and the players, in addition to that he wanted Vingada to assume his new post starting of June.
