Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho scored to help his side edge Cadiz 1-0 at home in the Spanish Primera Liga on Saturday. The Brazilian superstar scored what proved to be the winner early in the first half as his side are on the verge of retaining their league title. Barcelona are on top of the league table with 76 points, they will secure their second consecutive league title in case second-placed Valencia, who have 65 points, fail to beat Alaves on Sunday. Ronaldinho broke the deadlock after just eight minutes when he superbly met Juliano Belletti's low cross with a powerful shot into the roof of the net. Lucas Lobos almost grabbed the equalized two minutes later but his goal was disallowed for offside. Cadiz should have equalized in the 19th minute when Matias Pavoni fed Jonathan Sesma inside the area with just the keeper to beat but Sesma's shot went embarrassingly wide. Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o wasted an opportunity to extend the lead for the Catalan giants in the 25th minute when his close-range effort was blocked by Cadiz keeper. Barcelona were awarded a penalty kick in the 63rd minute after Mark Van Bommel was brought down inside the area, but Eto'o failed to convert it into the net.
