Guinean FA Secretary General Fode Capi Camara announced that coach Patrice Neveu will remain in his post until 2008. "We are extending Neveu's contract till 2008 when we meet next month because we are satisfied with his performance," Camara was quoted as saying by BBC Sport on Saturday. "We are going to give him the mandate to qualify Sylie Nationale to the 2008 Nations Cup in Ghana," he added. Neveu, who guided Guinea to qualify for the 2005 African Cup of nations in Egypt and lead them to the quarter-finals, was earlier linked with the Senegalese national side. The 52-year-old said that he would prefer staying with Guinea, but that it would all boil down to his talks with the Guinean FA. "I would like to continue with Guinea and that will only happen if I like the contract I will be offered but I believe everything will be fine," Neveu told BBC Sport.
