Tunisian referee Mourad Daami will run the African Cup final between Egypt and Ivory Coast that will take place in the Cairo International Stadium. Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Wednesday that Daami will referee the highly-anticipated match along with Algerian and Rwandan assistant referees Brahim Djezzar and Celestin Ntagungira and Eddy Maillet from Seychelles Islands. Daami refereed the 2000 African Cup final between Cameroon and Nigeria, which ended in the Indomitable Lions' favour after a sensational shoot-out. The Tunisian referee, who committed a serious mistake during the 2000 African final after counting a goal for Cameroon in the shootouts even though the ball hit the post, was chosen by the African Football governing body after uniquely refereeing a host of international matches.
