American veteran, Andre Agassi registered his first win after his return as he beat Brazilian Ricardo Mello in the first round of the Delray Beach International in Florida on Tuesday. Top-seeded Agassi, who suffered an ankle injury that had him sidelined since last November, needed 67 minutes to oust his opponent 6-4, 6-4, hitting ten aces en route to his victory. "I anticipated the return would be difficult but I felt good," Agassi was quoted as saying by the ATP official website. "(My) ankle felt alright and stable. It felt good. It was pain-free," assured the eight-time Grand Slam champion. The 35-year-old star slipped to number nine in the world rankings as he failed to recover from his injury in time for the Australian Open. Agassi awaits the winner from the first round encounter between American Bobby Reynolds and Ramon Delgado of Paraguay. Robby Ginepri, Xavier Malisse and Tommy Haas are among the big names heading the field at Delray Beach.
