Bolton Meanwhile, Bolton put an end to their last four goalless Premiership games with an earned 2-0 victory over Manchester City also in the same round. Jared Borgetti fired from close range in the 37th minute to give Bolton the lead before Kevin Nolan secured their victory only four minutes later after connecting a Stelios Giannakopoulos free-kick. Bolton come at seventh place in the premiership standings with a tally of 36 points, five points ahead of ninth place Man City. Elsewhere, Birmingham thumped Portsmouth 5-0, Widan defeated Middlesbrough 3-2 and Tottenham Hotspur were held by Aston Villa to a goalless draw.
