I'm happy at Newcastle, says Owen
Published in FilGoal on 18 - 01 - 2006

Michael Owen has insisted that he is happy in Newcastle, rejecting claims from England manager Sven Goran Eriksson stating otherwise.
Eriksson told an undercover reporter that Owen was not enjoying his stint at St James Park.
The England forward, who joined the Magpies from Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer, refuted the Swede's claims.
"I'm enjoying my time here. I enjoyed it out in Madrid, but there is nothing quite like being in the English Premier League and I've not been disappointed since I've been here," Owen told Newcastle's official website on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old paid tribute to Newcastle fans who gave him a warm reception upon his arrival at Tyneside
"It was a fantastic reception I had here and I've loved every minute of it already," he said.

Owen refuted Eriksson's claims
"You always want to repay them for the support they've given you in producing good performances on the pitch. When I'm fit I'm sure I will do that," he added.
Owen's time at the Premiership side has been hampered by many injuries, but he is determined to get back to action as soon as possible.
"I'm not sure about time limits but I'm certainly looking forward to pulling on a black and white shirt again. As much as it still seems a few weeks away, I'm looking forward to it already. I can see light at the end of the tunnel," he said
"Thankfully I am going to be back for a decent part of the season and hopefully back into a team playing," he added.
Owen played 10 matches for Newcastle this season, scoring seven goals in all competitions.
