Barcelona kept the pole position of the Primera Liga summit after a 2-1 victory over city rivals Espanyol on Saturday. Portuguese midfielder Deco and Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o scored for the Catalans while Raul Tamudo registered Espanyol's only goal. The victory raised Barcelona point tally to 43, five ahead of second-place Osasuna while Espanyol remained 14th with 18 points. Deco put Barca ahead just before the break with a powerful shot from outside the area. Barcelona doubled the lead three minutes into the second period after Ronaldinho fed Eto'o with a deft through pass before the Cameroon star poked home with a stinging low drive. In other match, Deportivo Coruna beat Athletic Bilbao with the same result.
