Ahli are now certain to host South Africa's Orlando Pirates at Gouna Stadium after failing in their bid to play in non-fasting hours, the FA announced on its website. FA spokesman Azmi Megahed confirmed that the Champions League group-stage fixture will take place at Gouna Stadium on August 4, a day after Ahli had suggested playing the game at Upper Egypt's Aluminum Stadium. The Reds' request came as a part of their desperate attempts to play at a floodlight-equipped venue at night in order to avoid playing during fasting hours in Ramadan. The African champions will have to endure the coastal city's mid-day heat when they host the South African outfit once again, a week after facing city rivals Zamalek at the same venue. Gouna Stadium has been chosen by authorities as the home venue of Ahli and Zamalek in the Champions League, as well as hosting Egypt's friendly game against Mali this month.
