France edged Uruguay on penalties to clinch the U-20 World Cup title in Turkey, whereas Ghana won third place by beating Iraq.
In a tight final in Istanbul, France were held to a goalless draw by Uruguay before emphatically winning the penalty shootout 4-1.
The hero of the night was goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who saved Uruguay's first two penalties before defender Dimitri Foulquier hit the winning spot kick.
Earlier in the day, Ghana capped an impressive tournament by thrashing Iraq 3-0 in the third-place playoff, with promising striker Ebenezer Assifuah scoring again.
Assifuah, who was second in the scoring charts of the African Youth Championship this year, netted his sixth goal to finish the World Cup as top scorer.
