Hossam Hassan has been appointed as Jordan manager, according to the Jordanian Football Association website. Hassan, Egypt's all-time leading scorer, has been unattached to any club after leaving MCDR last month. Despite being joined by his brother Ibrahim in all his previous stints, the Jordanian FA has yet to reveal Hassan's assistants. Jordan, who never qualified for the World Cup throughout their history, have made the qualifiers playoffs as they face Uzbekistan in a two-legged encounter after finishing third of Group B. Hassan's Jordanian spell comes as his first overseas adventure, having taken charge of Egyptian teams only including Masri, Telecom Egypt, Zamalek and Ismaili. He becomes the second Egyptian manager to take over ‘Al-Nashama' following late Egypt legend Mahmoud Al-Gohari. The former striker replaces Iraqi coach Adnan Hamad, who was the one to lead Jordan to the World Cup qualifiers playoffs.
