Egypt paid the price of a wasteful display to succumb to a 2-1 defeat in the FIFA U-20 World Cup opening game. After a 10th minute goal by Mahmoud ‘Kahraba', Chile came back to level it through hitman Nicolas Castillo. Substitute Christian Bravo won it for the South Americans in the second half, following a series of missed chances from the African champions. Chile had star midfielder Christian Cuevas sent off 10 minutes from the end but Egypt could not merit on the one-man advantage. Chile move to the top of Group E as England and Iraq meet later on Sunday. Clinical opener...sloppy finishing Egypt were off to a perfect start when Kahraba slotted home, courtesy of a brilliant assist by Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka'. Kahraba almost scored his second a few minutes later, but his effort went inches wide. Pouncing on some poor defending by Egypt, the Chileans grabbed a lucky equalizer through Castillo's deflected shot. The lively Kahraba was again at the center as he missed a good chance to restore the lead following a superb pass by Ahmed Samir. Another chance fell to Kahraba near half time but the Egypt starlet couldn't finish once again. After the break, Egypt keeper Mossad Awad made a brave block to deny Angelo Henriquez. But Egypt missed another clear-cut chance, this time Koka headed wide from close range. The Young Pharaohs were eventually punished by a solo effort from Bravo, who deceived three defenders before firing home. Chile's Cuevas was handed a straight red following a rash challenge 10 minutes from time.
