Arab Contractors and Egypt international Bassem Ali is heading for a trial at Basel in the summer, according to the Cairo club. Contractors, who sold Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Al-Nenni to the Swiss champions, have agreed to let their star full-back Ali move to St. Jakob-Park within the next couple of months. The 24-year-old has been usually linked with a move to African champions Ahli, but his club say that Basel have now become the main suitors. “There have been no talks, either official or oral, with Ahli over the transfer of Bassem," Arab Contractors chairman Sherif Habib told FilGoal.com. “There is already an agreement with Basel to send the player for trial in the summer." Ali made 10 appearances for Egypt under Bob Bradley but has yet to make his competitive debut for the Pharaohs.
