Egypt could retain the services of skipper Rami Rabiea at the U-20 World Cup as the Ahli starlet underwent knee surgery on Thursday. Rabiea suffered a cartilage injury in the league win over Smouha and was rated doubtful for the World Cup final by the end of June. But Ahli said on their website that the 21-year-old could return after four-to-six weeks. The versatile defender, who scored the decisive winner that sent Egypt to the Turkey finals, was initially in danger of being out for three months after surgery. Egypt will open their campaign against Chile on June 23 before taking on other Group E rivals Iraq and England.
