Zamalek were almost denied by a second-half revival from lowly Military Production but still managed to claim a 3-1 league victory. Full-back Ahmed Samir scored for the second game in a row as Nour Al-Sayed merited on a goalkeeping gaffe to register his first goal for Zamalek. Karim Karada pulled one back for Production who almost snatched a draw, but Omar Gaber scored in injury time to save the day for Zamalek. It is Zamalek's sixth win out of six, making the Group B leaders the only side with maximum points so far. Production remained winless at the bottom of the group. Early domination and hectic finale Zamalek took the lead after 12 minutes when full-back Samir fired in his second header in two games following a pinpoint cross by Nour. From this point, the Whites could have added three more goals but were first denied a superb team goal when Mohamed Abdul-Shafi hit the post. Minutes later, Mohamed Ibrahim almost scored a wonder solo goal when he took on the entire Production backline before a sloppy touch allowed the keeper to block him. Right on the stroke of half time, Ibrahim came up with a miss-of-the-season contender when he shockingly failed to score before an empty net. Shortly after the break, Zamalek were gifted a goal when Nour's innocuous effort was dealt with awfully by goalkeeper Nader Saad, who was just fortunate to see an earlier blunder go wide. Only two minutes later, Production put themselves back in the game when Karada dispatched a left-footed shot past Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed. The lowly side almost completed the fightback but striker Karada was unlucky to see a header bounce off the bar, with Abdul-Wahed well-beaten. Video to follow soon... In the final minute of injury time, a defining moment saw Abdul-Wahed make a crucial save to deny a clear-on-goal Abdul-Rahman Ali, whose poor finish cost his team dearly. Video to follow soon... The missed chance was followed by a terrific goal at the other end, with Gaber whipping home a cracking volley to end the contest.
