Burkina Faso lit up the Africa Cup of Nations with a thumping win, while Zambia's Kennedy Mweene made history. Group C matches began with a crunch clash between holders Zambia and Nigeria, who took the lead through an Emmanuel Emenike strike. But the Zambians equalized through a highly-controversial penalty dispatched wonderfully by goalkeeper Mweene near the end. The 28-year-old Mweene becomes the first goalie to score in the history of the competition. In the other game, Burkina Faso produced the best performance of the finals so far by thrashing Ethiopia 4-0, courtesy of a brace from the competition's top scorer Alain Traore. Djakaridja Koné and Jonathan Pitroipa added two more to complete the rout. Nigeria 1-1 Zambia Burkina Faso 4-0 Ethiopia
