The Egyptian authorities decided to open the Rafah crossing borders with the Gaza Strip for two days starting from Wednesday, allowing stranded Palestinians to cross into Gaza, security source told Xinhua. Scores of Palestinians started flocking to enter the Gaza Strip, and a total of 50 people, including students and patients, have arrived from the enclave, an official said. Egypt shut down Rafah crossing in June 2007 after Hamas routed security forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and seized control of Gaza. However, Egypt opens the crossing occasionally for humanitarian cases.
