A TEAM of five prominent Egyptian artists will be visiting India in the period from March 22-30 to participate in the firstever artists workshop to be conducted under the bilateral cultural co-operation agreement between India and Egypt. The Egyptian artists visiting India are Mohamed Abla, Magdy el-Kafrawy, Abdel Wahab Abdel Mohsen, Reda Abdul Rahman Hassanen and Tareq Abdul Rahman Mahmoun. The eight-day workshop, to be inaugurated on Monday, will be organised at the famous Garhi studios in New Delhi by the Lalit Kala Akademi, India's premier agency for fine arts, which functions under the Indian Ministry of Culture. The Egyptian artists will work along side Indian artists in the morning sessions and in the evening make presentations. At the end of the workshop, the works will be exhibited at the Lalit Kala Akademi's gallery and on their return to Egypt at the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture. A return visit by Indian artists to Egypt is expected to take place soon.
