Zamalek ready for Al-Geish in local league
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 10 - 03 - 2010

Zamalek encounter Al-Geish on Thursday in the Egyptian Premier League in Cairo. The White Knights are looking good for Thursday's game after their 3-2 victory over Petrojet in the league on Sunday.
Zamalek, who lie in the third place with 33 points, are hoping to vie for the title this season. Al-Geish are in fifth with 30 points.
Zamalek's coach Hossam Hassan, who has already achieved a lot with the team, says that the title this season is not beyond their reach.
The White Knights' Amr el-Safti and Ahmed Ghanem will miss Thursday night's game. The coaching staff have reported that Ibrahim Salah and Ahmed Magdi will be used instead.
In the Delta city of el-Mahalla, Ghazl el-Mahalla meet Enppi in the league Thursday. Enppi have 25 points and Ghazl 21.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Football Association's (EFA) competitions committee has fined Tuesday night Zamalek LE20,000 ($3,650), because their spectators let off a lot of fireworks during the White Knights' 3-2 victory over Petrojet. It was an ill-tempered clash, as both sides' fans were notably aggressive.
Petrojet, as expected, were handed a LE10,000 fine after their supporters threw stones at Zamalek's players during the second half. Mokhtar Mokhtar and Hani el-Aka, manager and assistant coach respectively, were also fined LE2,000 ($365) for showing dissent to the referee.
