CAIRO - Egypt defeated Niger 1-0 on Sunday in the second week of the Embassies Quintets Premier League, held at the Sports Development Centre in Heliopolis. Uzbekistan defeated South Africa 5-1; Spain beat Libya 3-1, Tanzania and Algeria held to a goalless draw, while Mauritius edged England 2-1. Elsewhere, the Philippines stunned Chad 11-0 and Palestinian beat Malaysia 2-0. Group A includes Palestine, Uganda, Sudan and Malaysia, while Group B comprises Egypt, Niger, South Sudan and the Comoros. Group C consists of the Philippines, the Arab League, Zimbabwe and the Czech Republic, whereas Group D is composed of Burundi, Tanzania, Algeria and Indonesia. Group E is made up of South Africa, Spain and Libya. Group F involves Greece, Serbia and Vietnam, Group G lists Kazakhstan, France and Kuwait, and Group H consists of Russia, England, Uzbekistan and Mauritius. The Embassies Quintets Premier League, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Sports, promotes sport as a bridge for dialogue between different cultures, stressing peace, love and rejecting all forms of violence.
