The tourism sector is the first sector that needs an urgent response from President Mohammed Morsi; there are fears about the future of tourism in view of the Muslim Brotherhood's stance. These worries are not only expressed by tour operators abroad but also by those in Egypt. If the new president wants to save the economy, he will have to support tourism. New tourism projects and plans are waiting for President Morsi's response, and the sector needs a reaction soon. Morsi is expected to hold a meeting with important tourism representatives and investors to shed some light on his intentions. The tourism sector itself is required to be proactive and approach the president; a move supported by the head of the Tourism Federation Chamber, Elhami el-Zayat. The Egyptian Businessmen Association led by its chairman Hussein Sabbour held an important meeting with tourism investment associations headed by Ahmed Balbaa. They sent an urgent message to President Morsi outlining their demands and priorities. Considering that 4 million people work in the tourism industry it stands to reason that the president should pay special attention to this sector. The message included issues such as tourists' personal freedom, increased security in tourism resorts, reforming the Higher Tourism Council headed by Egypt's president and establishing industrial and agricultural sites for small and medium-sized projects in the vicinity of tourism centres.
