LONDON - Serena Williams took a giant step towards claiming her fifth Wimbledon title when she swatted aside Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska to win the first set of Saturday's final 6-1. Williams, who is chasing a 14th grand slam title, had the Pole under pressure from the start and brought up her second break point in the second game with a brutal cross-court forehand. Radwanska hit a forehand wide to hand Williams a 2-0 love lead and she followed that with another break in the fourth game when the third seed's forehand faltered again. Williams let two set points slip in the sixth game, allowing Radwanska to get on the scoreboard, but she served an ace to bring up set point and followed that with another unreturnable blast to take the opener. The players were then forced off court by a rain shower.
