CAIRO – Minister of Health Amr Helmi declared on Thursday a state of emergency at all hospitals nationwide, while providing 35 ambulances in anticipation of Friday's demonstration, the official Middle East News Agency reports. All political powers and movements have called on Egyptians to participate in what has been called ‘The Friday for Restoring the Revolution'. In a press statement on Thursday, Helmi said that he has sent letters to all hospitals nationwide to tell them to be ready for an emergency. He has called on all medical staff to cancel their holidays and remain on duty from Thursday to Saturday. He added that 35 ambulances will be deployed for Friday's demonstration in Tahrir Square, in Tahrir itself and the surrounding area. He added that the ministry has also prepared fully equipped mobile clinics to treat the injured, stressing that a specialised medical team will be there all day long.
