CAIRO – Egypt's ex-Ambassador to Israel Mohamed Bassiuoni died on Sunday at the age of 74, the official Middle East News Agency reported. His son Hatem told the MENA that his father was suffering from hypertension and diabetes. Hatem added that his father had undergone a heart operation, but his health was stable. Bassiuoni worked for Egyptian diplomacy for many years. He was also vice president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the dissolved Shura Council. His funeral ceremony will be held later in the day in Nasr City.
