CAIRO - An Egyptian lawyer and 19 others have filed a report to Minister of Interior Mansour el-Eissawi to protect Ahmed el-Shahat, the man who climbed to the top of Israel's Embassy in Cairo and tore down its flag, earlier this week. The report filed by lawyer Mamdouh Ismail, head of the Human Rights Commission at the Egyptian Bar Association, calls on the Interior Minister to provide Egyptian citizens, especially el-Shahat, with protection. Ismail said el-Shahat, also known in the local media as 'Spiderman', has become a national hero and symbol who should be protected from Israelis, very angry at the removal of their flag.
