CAIRO (Updated 10) – The trial of Hosni Mubarak, his sons and fugitive businessman Hussein Salem on Wednesday was adjourned to August 15, but that of el-Adli and his six aides will resume on Thursday, the local media reported. The accused attended the first hearing session on Wednesday, with Mubarak lying on a bed as he's suffering from heart problems. He is now going to be hospitalised in Cairo, having left Sharm el-Sheikh, where he had been in hospital for the past four months. The first session of this unprecedented trial lasted about three hours. Meanwhile, fresh clashes erupted on Wednesday between Mubarak loyalists and those opposed to him. Pro-Mubarak protesters who had gathered outside the Cairo Police Academy in New Cairo clashed with his opponents, as the judge ordered a short recess. The crowd, including the families of those who died during the uprising that toppled Mubarak, had been watching the trial on a large screen outside the Academy.
