CAIRO - Dozens of former Egyptian Air Force pilots, who took part in the 1973 War against Israel, Sunday filed a report to the Chief Prosecutor against veteran writer Mohamed Hasssanein Heikal for insulting them and discrediting a 'marvellous' air strike during the war. "Heikal's remarks that the air strike was a minor one and that it was just a demonstration rather than a real strike are nothing but defamation of the armed forces and the role of the Air Force," the pilots wrote in their report. They added that Heikal's remarks have depressed the pilots, who took part in the air strike, as well as their relatives and the relatives of those who were martyred. "It's very dangerous for a veteran writer like Heikal to destroy the history of the armed forces," said Mohamed Okasha, one of the pilots submitting the report. Former president Hosni Mubarak was head of the Air Force during the 1973 war.
