CAIRO " Some political parties and alliances, spearheaded by the leftist Tagammu Party, have criticised a draft law, according to which the upcoming parliament's elections will be held and sent its proposed amendments to the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces for review. "The draft law has many merits. However, it does not meet all the demands of political powers in Egypt," the Tagammu Party said in a statement on Tuesday. It added that the party, backed by some political alliances and independent political figure, announced their commitment to Law No. 38/1972 on political rights and its amendments, which were previously reviewed by Al-Wafd, Al-Ahrar, Labour and Nasserist parties as well as the Muslim Brotherhood.
