CAIRO - Egyptian business tycoon Naguib Sawiris rejected calls for a million demonstration on Friday, described as the 'Second Friday of Rage' the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday. Sawiris " the founder of Liberal Egyptians Party- not yet constituted " said that security needs to be restored nationwide to help restart the production wheel now that the economy is on the verge of collapse, to use his words. The businessman hailed January 25 revolution that enabled Egyptians to regain their dignity, warning that some elements are taking advantage of it to achieve personal interests. Sawiris warned against using Friday demonstrations to drive a wedge between the people and the Armed Forces, describing the Army as the stronghold of the nation. He urged Christian Copts to participate in the legislative elections either to be held in September or later. However, he said he personally preferred the delay of parliamentary elections. Sawiris refuted rumours regarding the transfer of his business activities outside Egypt stressing pride of his Egyptian nationality. In a seminar at Geizira Sporting Club in Cairo on Wednesday, Sawiris described Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu as 'stupid' for wasting a golden chance to establish peace in the Middle East based on two states - Palestine and Israel.
