CAIRO - The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Sunday said it had referred 190 people suspected of involvement in deadly sectarian clashes near Cairo to military tribunals. The council added in a message on its Facebook page that there would be no leniency towards inciters of sectarianism in Egypt. Around 12 Muslims and Christians were killed in clashes outside a church in the working-class neighbourhood of Imbaba. More than 100 others were injured in the clashes, among the worst since the January 25 revolution.
