CAIRO - Al-Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb called on Sunday for on an emergency meeting of the 'Family Home' to discuss the latest events of Imbaba church clashes on Saturday, Al-Youm Al-Sabe reports. So far 11 have been reported dead while casualties hit more than 170. The Family Home is a council that comprises wisemen of islamic and coptic faiths. Al-Tayyeb condemned the incident, urging both Muslims and Christians to maintain self control and to solve problems peacefully. Egypt's mufti Ali Gomaa also condemned the clashes and said they "were toying with Egypt's national security." The violence could not have been caused by "religious people who understand their religion, whether Muslim or Christian," he told official Middle East News Agency (MENA) late on Saturday.
