CAIRO - Passenger air traffic in Egypt has plummeted by 60 per cent over the past four months, against the same period the previous year, Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation Ibrahim Mannaa said Wednesday. Although signs of recovery in passenger arrivals have shown, the decline has been unprecedented since the January 25 revolution, which toppled former president Hosni Mubarak, Mannaa said. "But Umrah (lesser pilgrimage to Islamic holy places in Mecca and Madina) and the return of Egyptian expatriates in the summer will boost the airline industry," Mannaa added.
