CAIRO - Authorities at Cairo Airport have seized 100 parcels containing invaluable suspected of belonging to a close friend of former president Hosni Mubarak. The parcels, weighing 3,310 kilograms were to be shipped to Saudi Arabia, to be later handed over to Hussein Salem, a wanted Egyptian business tycoon over graft suspicions. The parcels contained gold treasures and silverware, in addition to around 4,000 portraits of Salem with Mubarak and other senior officials in the former regime, said officials Saturday night. Hussein is believed to be the architect of a questionable deal for supplying Israel with Egyptian gas.
