CAIRO - Former chairman of the Egyptian Parliament Ahmed Fathi Surour and the ex- chief of presidential staff Zakaria Azmi were detained on Wednesday for 15 more days pending further investigations over a deadly crackdown against protesters. Surour is suspected of involvement in 'Camel Battle', in which he allegedly incited thugs to kill protesters in Tahrir Square in central Cairo on February 2. Meanwhile, Azmi is charged of abusing power and profiteering. Surour and Azmi have been detained by the Illicit-Gains Agency of the Ministry of Justice for 15 days last week on charges of graft.
