CAIRO (Updated 1) – Egypt's Minister of Tourism Monir Fakhri Abdel-Nour said Tuesday that the development of the tourism industry in the forthcoming period requires a fresh vision, the official Middle East News Agency reported. Abdel-Nour said he would discuss with tourist experts means for enhancing the local tourism map suggesting the amendment of regulations governing the sector. He added that the ministry would launch a campaign very soon to promote Arab tourism in Egypt this summer. Within this context Egypt is to participate in Dubai Tourism Exhibition next month. The minister pointed out that owing to political unrest in Libya which traditionally contributes the most to Arab tourism in Egypt, the Gulf region remains the best option at the moment. Abdel-Nour added that the ministry has taken a number of steps to promote tourism and remove any obstacles on the way of reviving it in Egypt.
