Hundreds of protesters in the Upper Egyptian Governorate of Sohag blocked the railroad to Aswan and bringing railway traffic to a complete halt over repeated quarrels between two main tribes, a security official said Tuesday. "Around 500 protesters from a large family in a village near Sohag clocked the Cairo-Aswan railway in protest against what they called lack of police action against another family members from the village who used to quarrel with them," added the official. He said that three cars loaded with policemen had arrived at the area. "However, the protesters called for the Army personnel to arrest members of the attacking family," he said. The protest on the railroad lasted for more than three hours before the Army persuaded the demonstrators to end their strike.
