T HE American University in Cairo Press will today host the Tahrir Book Fair on the AUC Tahrir Campus until April 3, during which one hundred local and foreign exhibitors, including the AUC Press, will be sell- ing books in English, Arabic and other languages, directly to the public. The fair will be held in the gardens and grounds of the AUC Tahrir Campus, open daily to the public from 10am-6pm. Admission will be free from charge, with a valid photo ID. Initiated in the spirit of Al Tahrir Square revo- lution as a response to the cancellation of last month's annual Cairo International Book Fair and further encouraged by the growing interest in Middle East affairs, the fair will also include a seminar series on the impact of the Egyptian Revolution on the arts and freedom of expression, and book signings with prominent AUC press authors. Food stands and live entertainment will also be featured. The fair will be opened today at 10am opening by Minister of Culture Emad Abu Ghazi to be followed by a press conference and a tour of the Book Fair grounds.
