CAIRO - Thinking that he would attract thousands of fans as his concerts usually do, popular Egyptian singer Tamer Hosni was shocked to come across an indifferent audience. This happened Tuesday night, when he tried to join thousands of anti-Mubarak protesters in Al Tahrir Square. The protesters tried to attack him when he was about to speak to them in the square. The protesters refused to let him join them and at least seven protesters were injured in the ensuing scuffle, according to eyewitnesses. The Army had to keep them at bay, they added. A few days ago, Tamer made a statement condemning the protesters in Al Tahrir Square and urging them to go home.
