CAIRO - Egypt's Ministry of Education extended by one week a mid-year holiday, delaying re-opening of schools and universities which was scheduled for next Saturday due to the protests sweeping the nation. "For the exam results to be announced and for the schools damaged by rioters to be repaired, the mid-year holiday is extended by one week," said Minister of Higher Education Hani Helal, who is also the acting minister of education. "The studieswill resume on February 19," he added.
