With Minister of Civil Aviation Ahmed Shafiq in attendance, EgyptAir Holding Company has celebrated the delivery of an Italian Boeing 777, after it underwent maintenance and servicing by EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering Company; thus being the first European aircraft to be maintained by the company. The delivery was also attended by Hussein Massoud, the Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, Abdel Aziz Fadel, the Chairman of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering, Girancarlo Cimoli, the Chairman of Alitalia, and the plane's crew. Minister Shafiq said that EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering was one of the major maintenance companies in the Middle East and Africa, servicing all types of aircraft like Boeing and Airbus. He added that the company had more than 78 years of experience and offered is technical service to more than 106 airlines in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "We are proud of the European airlines' confidence in our national company," he added, referring to the fact that the company, internationally certified by IASA, offered its services all over the world, and that thanks to its highly skilled employees was able to meet the needs of customers on the European market. He added that not only the Egyptian Civil Aviation sector but also the national economy in general were benefiting from this accomplishment. "It shows that Egyptians are as skillful as others and have got the insistence and persistence to face challenges and difficulties and prove themselves on the international market". Hussein Massoud, the Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, expressed his satisfaction that an EgyptAir subsidiary is able to offer its services internationally. "Our priority is to offer the most advanced service to our customers," Massoud added. Meanwhile, Abdel Aziz Fadel, the Chairman of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering, declared that 250 technicians and 25 engineers has offered maintenance and technical support to Alitlia, adding that the same service would be given to another aircraft of the same type in addition to two Airbus 330 as well as two Embraer. "I feel proud of our company, and we are eager to do our best to offer more services and exchange our expertise on international standards with others," he said.
