CAIRO--Egypt won the Nile Basin friendly tournament in Cairo Monday night by beating Uganda 3-1 in the final. Egyptian striker Al-Sayed Hamdi netted in the 37th minute and doubled the score in the 70th minute. His teammate Mohamed Nagi Geddo scored the third goal. Though Uganda pulled one back from the penalty spot six minutes before the final ended, it seemed too late to stop Egypt being the champions. Finally, Egypt won the first place of the tournament, Uganda claiming the second and Congo Republic being the third. Seven countries including Egypt, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Sudan, Kenya and Congo Republic took part in the friendly tournament.
