CAIRO - The Libyan authorities agreed to release and re-patriate 30 Egyptian fishermen, who were detained by the North African country after their ships, "The Star" and el-Haj Ahmed", strayed into its territorial waters accidentally, Mohamed Ismail quoted a Foreign Ministry official as saying Tuseday. Foreign Minister's Assistant for Consular and Expatriates' Affairs Mohamed Abdul Hakam said that the 30 fishermen and their ships were released by Libyan authorities after the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli had paid the required fine for all of them. “The release of the 30 men came after intense negotiations between the Egyptian and Libyan authorities,” Abdul Hakam added.
