CAIRO - Plain-clothed policemen banning rallies by supporters of the outlaured Muslim Brotherhood's candidates for the November 28 parliamentary elections, denying representatives of those contenders entry into polling stations and thugs intimidating voters on Election Day were the opening scenes of a Brotherhood production film on the alleged fraud marring the latest vote. 'Naziha!' or 'Fair!' is a 30-minute documentary produced by a branch of the banned group in the Nile Delta province of Daqahliya to videotape the irregularities and violations allegedly committed against the Brotherhood's candidates. "This two-part film records by photos and video clips stages of the election starting from the campaigning, Election Day and the counting of votes. The size of fraud is undeniable," read a presentation of the documentary on the social networking website Facebook. It added that this film was not a means in itself but "a tool to document the scandal of election fraud". The Muslim Brotherhood, whose candidates run as independents to skirt a decades-long ban, won only one seat in the People's Assembly (the Lower House of the Egyptian Parliament) after the group ordered its 27 candidates to stay away from the runoffs held on December 5. Essam el-Erian, a senior member of the group, said the Brotherhood would use this movie and other evidence in its legal battle against the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP), which swept the House with 420 seats out of 508. "We have a legal battle to fight inside and outside Egypt. It's clear in this film that the will of the voters has been rigged and other violations are also registered," el-Erian told The Egyptian Gazette. The movie in some scenes shows policemen arresting Brotherhood supporters who were holding banners like "Together for Reform" and Islam is the Solution". The 'Naziha!' film, watched by hundreds of Internet loggers so far, draw hundreds of comments from viewers, who said they had seen some of these violations in their constituencies and other who promised to upload similar videos. "Let's show the world the scandal," read one comment. A coalition of Egyptian rights groups last week urged President Hosni Mubarak to nullify the results of the parliamentary elections because of allegedly massive vote rigging. In a statement the Independent Coalition for Elections' Observation said Mubarak should use his constitutional powers to dissolve the newly elected parliament. "Transparency standards were overlooked at the largest scale. Rigging and forging the citizens' will have become the law regulating this election," the groups said.
