CAIRO - The Ministry of Transportation has added eight trains to ensure smooth mass traffic movement during the three-day Eid-el-Fitr holidays, which mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The feast, expected to begin on September 10, is the biggest of two Muslim holidays, giving workers their only chance of the year of returning to their home provinces to visit with their family members. With about 43,000 people expected to travel to their hometowns, pressure for tickets will be high, the Ministry said, adding that it decided to run eight more trains to meet the crowding on over-booked trains during and after the feast. For a harmonious feast, it is essential to ensure all passengers can travel home safely during and after the holidays.
